Monitpora placement

I just purchased a montipora red cap frag. I was depabting where to place it? On a rock or on the glass (im leaning toward this placement) should I place them lower or higher in the tank. Any ideas would be great

I have MH 150watt and it's about 12in from the light and grows like crazy
But start low and move up slow
