Monti Cap question

So I received a couple pieces of monti cap in a trade with @Mark... , it’s doing great, but changing colors. It Was a very nice light red/pinkish when I received it. It started turning purple, and now it’s turning blueish. It’s growing, looks happy, just turning blue.

I know Corals can change appearance depending on your system, but red cap to blue/purple? I gave a piece of it to @Steven Simon and it still looks like the original color.

The blues are exaggerating it a little, but not much. Any ideas or have you seen this before?

Yes, it looks great, growth showing, just blueish. Honestly I kinda hope this is just what it’s gonna look like.

Dave, if you see white rings around the edges it’s also growing out...

I’ve heard of this happening due to alk spikes. If your tanks alkalinity was very different from his, I’d be willing to bet that’s the reason why.

trumpet is doing well, just starting to show some growth. Glad everything is well with your stuff.
