Mounting coral

So this may seem like silly question but for the life of me I can't seem to be successful at least notto successful. Any ways I have been trying to mount coral in my tank various types using various methods but can't get anything really to stick were I want it to is there a trick to this .. I've tried using the 2 part epoxy puddy as much as I like play doe as a kid this stuff really ain't that sticky and I've tried using gel type crazy glue and it's kinda working but following the method of apply to frag stick to rock underwater the glue builds a film and seems to stick to nothing but my fingers .. aside from trying to find a flat surface to use for Mouting in appropriate location for the coral species any ways what's the trick do I have to break down and buy the expensive epoxy mix from acc or what sincerely and truly flustered and partially glued to him self -Jeremy

I used epoxy. You need to mix it will mainly when using the two part ones. Once you get it mix well then you need to get the frag into it well and then stick it where you want it, count to 7 or so, then hope it holds lol. Now I never did it but I heard of people using a combo of both poxy and glue. They put the glue between the poxy and the frag

i like superglue gel, BSI is my favorite. Dry a spot on the frag and get a big bubble of glue submerge quickly and try and burst that glue bubble and smear it around hold for 30 seconds. If its a off balance piece you might need to prop

thanks guys i guess a big part is finding to flat or semi flat surfaces to get a good fitting spot for the glue to adhere and bursting the glue bubble so it can still, i have only had sucsess with glueing the hard skelton of a hammer frag and a duncan frag because it was basicly like a peg that fit into a natural hole in the rock work.. but on larger pieces and coral already growing on small pieces of rock works its like square peg round hole.. i really would love to see a physical hands on demonstration of fragging different types of corals and in tank mounting if anyone is ever doing a large frag/mounting project and wouldnt mind me looking over there shoulder and asking questions id gladly repay you with my great company and gopher work

Joe (@horseplay ) filled you in on the secret of mounting frags....epoxy putty with a dab of superglue. Also make sure you have a decent amount of epoxy to build up on the sides of the frag, and now push that into the intricacies of the rock.
