Moving 55g Tank forward 5"

Hi, well I didn't have enough space between the 55g tank and the wall, so now I have to move the tank? How do I go about that?

55gallons of water
35lbs of Sand
No Live Rock

2 Clowns and Rbta and a Goby

I had to move one a few inches one time. I lower the water half way and took a car jack and used it push the stand and tank. Fortunately it was sitting on a piece of carpet on a linoleum floor so it slid real easy.

i think BobCReef's idea would work, you no need to remove fish or anything...
just lower the water on the side...

with the carpet is a bit tough, but should still do able.
where are you located? if near by, i can stop by to help...

I moved my 55 almost the same way. I just took about 1/2 the water out, put sliders under it, and slid it. You are only going a small distance so I would just leave the fish in it.

If your local to me, I'll give you a hand. 2 people can lift the whole thing and move it a few inches.

I moved a 55 accross the room. I drained everything a little more than half way and put the fish in a bucket, put the rock in a rubbermaid and didn't touch the sand. Picked it up with my brother and set it back up in the new spot.

1. I moved my tank guys, thanks for your help. We just took out like all the water except for 2 gallons, then moved it. Hooked up my new skimmer, which is rated for 110 gallons, and seems to be getting just some cloudy water after the first 5 cups of gunk.

2. If using paypal, is it the same principals? Pay for the club, then send the email?

Glad you were able to get your tank moved!

If you're going to pay via paypal you'll send the paypal and then email the application.
