Moving away from individual air pumps ... to one large one!

it looks cool.

but i would prefer to use 3 smaller one (the 6 outlet one - AAPA45L), just in case one broke, and i still be able to use the TWO to temporary support the tanks until it got fixed.

Same here. Sometimes its better to have 2 med size instead of one lrg and so on. U appreciate when one breaks down.

Dont think it matters if they r quiet. As long as they are reasonably quiet, those type of pumps put out so much air u could prob mount it in the basement or a closet and run a bigger air line to the tanks then split it up from there. Or if it has 6 ports just run 6 airlines. lucky 4 u air line tubing is one of the cheap things in this hobby. There is head loss, but not much to worry about like running a water pump from the basement up. Airs different

You're right. Good idea. I'm wondering if they're quiet ...

Sandee,

The way to quite these linear piston pumps is to (assuming the pump is in your basement) hang it from a basement beam with a bungee cord. The stretch material of the cord absorbs the vibrations (and sound) quite nicely. This will also work with large vibrator pumps.

I have a Whitewater linear pump I'm no longer using, along with two 12 outlet manifolds and an air filter to go with it. PM me if you have any interest in them. (I gave up on my efforts to breed clowns.) I'm in Livingston, 20 minutes east of you on Route 10.

Regards,
Bob

Hey Bob ... I actually thought of your signature tagline today! "I love the smell of skimate in the morning..." and here you are replying to my thread! ;)

I ordered two of those units (mentioned above). But, for the right price, I'll take another (as backup) and to compare loudness, etc. Tnx!
