very nice tank. how are you addeing calcuim with a reactor or doseing? iam starting a 20 gallon myself after the holidays.what kind of filter a hob or wet dry and what is your lighting?
a little info on the tank: mixed reef
20 gal high with 130w pc's ( 1 10k & 1 50/50 )
hob aquaclear filter , hob skimmer with carbon added
i top off 3cups of kalkwasser mixed at 1tbs to 1 gal rodi daily and water changes of 4 gal once a month.
this tank suffered a crash on 2/14/07 due tothe ice storm we had in monmouth county. no lights, filtration or heat for 60 hrs and the tank temp went as low as 40*f .
a lot of corals and fish were lost but i managed to save some with lots of love and special attention.
this tank has been up and running for at least 6 years and started as a fowlr then turned in to a small but packed mixed reef
occupants at this time are : (1) percula clown,(1) bi-collered blenny,(1) 6 line wrass, (12-15) assorted hermits and snails,(1) pistol shrimp
assorted mushroom,zoas,giant green palys, devils hand leather, kenya tree, cabbage leather,gsp,monti cap: green,orange and purple, monti digi: green & orange, orange crusting monti, purple nana, tan elk horn, green and red blastos,green candy cane, and a pink and blue chalice
thanks dom.....now i just have to get better at photography and get some individual pic of the corals up... my brother in law just got a D300 for his b-day and he said next time he comes over we will get some super clear shots and even some micro shots if we have time.
thanks phyl.....sorry about mentioning the D3** again...im not a camera pro but i did like what he showed me you could do with a camera of that quality . the down side is the price but man what great shots it takes.... but look who i'm talking to...those shots you posted the other day were amazing
