My First Jumper

My blue jaw trigger went in search of a better life outside of the reef and met with a tragic end! I hadn't seen him for a day or so, and he wasn't in his usual hidey hole. I took out the flashlight and there he was behind the tank on the floor, dried up and covered in dust and dirt. Not a fitting end for such a fine fish.

Has anyone ever had a trigger jump out on them before? I really liked this fish, but if this is common behavior, I may not replace him.

OY! Sorry to hear that.... :'(

I personally have never heard of triggers to be predisposed to carpet surfing- but i'm not at all familiar with them. ::)

I had a Sargassum Trigger jump .... Twice!!!

The first time he jumped while I was playing video games right next to my tank. Scared the you know what out of me and the second time I was at work and came home to find him the same way you described .. dry and dusty.

Sorry to hear it tho.

For about 2 years I have never had a fish jump and then just in the last 2 days I had 2 fish jump!

They pulled a "Romeo and Juliet" they were the same kind of wrasse, one committed suicide and the other followed two days later. This cruel world was just to much for them.

Since I took Kathy C's idea I havent had any carpet surfer. The netting on the top of the tank works wonders, and saves lifes
