Has anyone had any success getting mysid to reproduce in their refugium? If so what did you feed them and did they wipe out your pods? Thanks for any feedback.
My tanks (the ones w/o a puffer or wrasse at least LOL) are simply overrun with them. I have no idea what I've done to cause the breeding, I also still see plenty of pods in my tanks. I don't feed them anything in particular... I did have a 3g setup for a hitchiker crab I found in my tank that I didn't have the heart to kill, had some LR in there which had some shrimp... several months later the tank was absoultely crawling with the shrimp, and still had plenty of pods & worms in there as well... most I ever did was toss in some flake or a pellet for the crab.
In my experience once you get them you have tons of them... I can see them running all over and in the LR in my aquapod (this wasn't the case when I had a 6 line in there, he must have eaten alot), in my newly setup 70g I only see them in the sump/refug (tank has a 6 line), and in my puffer cube I see them hiding/running inside the rocks but I think my puffer picks them off too.
