Mystery growth? Any ideas?

Soon as the lights ramp up, I'll sample it. It looks to be a solid mass growing from the substrate. I thought maybe a coral spawn...never saw anything like it before...

Was hard, rock like. It broke apart when I picked it up. Starting to think one of the shrimp moved a small piece of rubble and it had some gsp slime on it giving it a purple appearance. I'll see if it grows back...

On the left side of your picture seems to be more of the substance. Looks like cyano. Try blowing it with a turkey baster and see if it blows off. If it does siphon it out.

Been doing that every two days along with floss change. It blows right off and gets flossed out..
Never ending battle..this little tank has a short lifespan now. Other tank should be ready for the move in soon...
