Need to borrow a 6' auger Toms River area

Anyone have a 6' auger in the Toms River area that I could borrow? one of my cat's knocked something into the bowel and now it's stuck in there somewhere.

I think you mean a snake. (EDIT TO ADD...my mistake, also called an auger. Sorry.)

If a snake doesn't work, whatever fell in is most likely still within the trap/siphon portion of the toidy.  I'd empty the water, disconnect the water line (first turning off the water), and pop off the two nuts to pull out the whole toidy.  Only thing you need to do to replace is buy a new wax seal (and caulk to re-caulk the toidy around the lower edge where it meets the floor).

Damn cats!  However, the fish must drive them nuts.

A auger is for toilets, pulling the toilet is not going to be a option for me hence the need of a 6' or longer auger. I can tell it's past the trap and stuck somewhere in the line, it's about 4.5' from the bottom of the toilet to the 4" main of the house but there is a couple of bends on the 3" line before it enters the main and I believe that is where it's stuck. Paying a plumber this time of year is not going to happen either since I know I can do it without having to pay someone 100+ an hour to do it.

Anyone?

The trap in the toilet is the smallest diameter. I can only guess that whatever went in is small enough to get past the trap, but heavy enough to rest in the 3” below. I have a conventional snake, but Sayreville to Toms River is a bit of a trip. I’m sure you’ll find someone closer. Best of luck.

How do you know it is stuck? I'm sure Mike has one but he's out of town for the week.

The toilet overflowed so did the usual plunger thing no luck, I have a 4' auger and after using it I got the toilet to flush but extremely slow with no power behind it, that's how I know whatever is in there (might be the rubber fish that used to be on the tank lid ::) ) was pushed further into the pipe, you loss about 1' after going through the trap inside the toilet so I'm only getting to right above the 90, in the basement under the toilet there is a 90 and a couple of 45's before it goes into the main so that's why I know with a six foot I'll be able to push it through. I even went as far as using shampoo in hopes it would lube it up, then it would slide on it's own after a few flushes...that didn't work ::) but did make lots of bubbles 8)

Phyl,
I pm'd Mike the other day and asked him but he didn't get back to me, plus he's been really busy lately. I have until next Wed to get it fixed at least that's what the wife told me... I better have it fixed before Christmas eve. :-[

You can rent them for pretty cheap the most home depots too

The home depot by me only rents power augers not the hand use ones which is all I need.
