The stand looks REALLY solid. Where are you putting the tank? Which floor? How many # of live rock are you planning? What part of Jersey are you from?

The tank will be on the main floor. There is a crawlspace underneath and garage is the access to the crawlspace. I keep the in the garage because the crawlspace is too tight.

I have about 125lbs of dry pukani rock, and about 100lbs mixed fiji and brazilian.

I'm in Ringwood...and I may be asking for help!!! Actually I have been thinking of a set up party. Food, beer, wine, and..........frags!!!

Here is my current 180.

Nice tank. What made you go Acrylic?

Weight! This thing weighs less than my 180!!! A glass tank this size would way about 1000 lbs. I hate how easy acrylic scratches, but manuevering 1k lbs of glass scares me!!!

people complain that all the nice tanks are in central/south jersey. Well I can for once complain that a NICE big tank is being set up in NORTH jersey.

Also - please do not post a sale price on your 180 here. Forum rules.

That 180 in the middle - is that one huge orange cap? Looks fantastic.

Lots of luck with the new tank . The pic of your 180 looks real nice . Before you do the switch can you post up some closeup shots, especially of that cap. If I have the time I'd be up for a setup party, really just want to check out a larger system to see if its something I want to get into . ;D

Changed sumps yesterday. Cleaned, broke and repaired skimmer. Barracuda is not hooked up yet and neither is the chiller or calcium reactor.

Now I'm working on getting all the plumbing together for the drains and returns. 1 1/2" drains, and the 1 1/2" return line will feed 3 1" returns in the tank.

Here's a shot of the sump so far.

What are you sealing the plywood sump with?

I used West System Epoxy. I coated the wood before assembly. Predrilled, then applied 3M 5200 marine adhesive/sealant, then screwed together. I smoothed the excess inside the seams. Then mixed filler in with the epoxy and ran it in all the seams on top of the 5200. I used fiberglass mat and tabbed all the panels. Then added a few more coats of epoxy. It has cured for over a month. 2 separate water tests before I put in the system proved to be water tight!!
