when u say u got a 70-300 macro lenses i hope u know that that is not a true macro lense, a true macro lense would be 50mm 105mm 200mm im sure one of the canon users in club will let u borrow a true macro lense so u could see the difference.
canon or nikon are both great cameras the inportant thing is that u got a digital SLR :)

Steve is right, your lens prob has a focus setting that says macro to help focus things closer than 1m but its not a "real" macro.

My 24-70mm L F/2.8 has a macro focus setting too

It's good to have fun we all know both cameras are great.
i would like to see some one wtih a Canon EOS-1D Mark III !

yes i know its not a true macro lense.... i didnt have 200+ to shell out for a macro only lense so i got one with a macre feature instead...maybe after i learn a little more and get better at normal shots i will venture into the macro world, might even give night vision a try ;)
