new reefer..

Hi NJ Reefers,

I am new to reef tanks, but I have had FW tanks since I was a kid.
Currently I have a 72 bow front heavily Planted tank and I am starting a 29 gal reef with a 10 gal sump.
I am in the process of gathering all the different part to put my reef together.
I have been reading up on RC from about 6 months.

So I know everything there is to maintain a good reef tank… J\K

Well, I thought I would join your group, it will help with the learning curve involved in this hobby.

All that being said, who do I send my dues to.
Any tips for a new reefer would help..

My process so far
Painted the back wall
Set up the lights (retro fit kit with 55x2 from AH Supply)
And i have had FW running in my tank for 2 weeks to see if it will hold a stable temp with the lights on a day and night timer..

Working on the sump and plumping…

Hi and Welcome to NJRC! Good luck setting up your tank. Be sure to take plenty of progress pictures along the way!

As for joining NJRC, there's a link on the home page to the membership application as well as the paypal link for paying. If you'd like to send the payment/app via snail mail then there's an address in the aplication that you can use for that.

Our next meeting is going to be in Bordentown where we'll be building Calcium Reactors. Feel free to come to the meeting, member or not.

Welcome to the club! And don't be afraid to ask questions we've all made a lot of mistakes setting our tanks. So we're very educated about what not to do.

Where are located, North, Central or South?

Welcome Kamla!

If you need any help flooding a room... I'm the one to contact! ;D

Seriously though, This is a great club to be a part of. Please heed Jeff's advice and ask as many questions as you like. There are a lot of mistakes to be made in this hobby...and trust me...you will make some. ;) Hopefully we can lead you in the right direction!

The next meeting would be a bit of a hike for you.. but I made quite a trek to my first meeting...and it was worth it.

Enjoy!

LOL.. i have my share of floods too.. :)
