New sump and other questions

I recently setup a new sump, wondering if due to the larger capacity I would evaporate less? Seems like the water level isn't moving much at all.

Also I noticed that there is a great amount of noise coming from the anti-siphon holes on the return line, other than obviously removing the hole, what can I do to quiet that down?

It seems to be the noisest part of the water coming out of the pipe and splashing down to the water in the overflow.

I can snap pics if that will help.

shouldn't be less- but it could appear to be less if the surface area of the sump is larger. You should get an ATO - probably the best investment for any reef tank, ok maybe a refractometer is *the* best.
