New to NJ Reefers and 40G Build Thread

I will be moving somewhere near the morristown area in before the end of the year because of a job, and i wanted to introduce myself to you all. I have been reefing since 95 when i got my first 120, but have had nano tanks for the past 12 years.

I had been planning on and purchasing items for an upgrade for almost year now, but had been holding off on putting it together due to the move. I will be posting the build once i get moved and settled in by December.

I look forward to making new friends and stocking the tank with new goodies.

here are a couple of pics of my current tank that which is pending to another reefer.

In addition to what i have pictured i have a 30'" 4 bulb aquatic life T5 Fixture, Tunze Osmolator 3155, 150 W Titanium Heater, JEBAO WP-25 wave maker.

There are about 45 to 50lbs of Dry Rock, 60lbs of Fiji Pink, ill be using a Rio 3100 as my main return.

What i have left to complete the build is making my durso, installing the overflow, getting pvc for plumbing, Fuge light, and getting an apex controller.

Im a bit unsure if i will be using the ASM G2 skimmer i have.

I will have to buy new bulbs for my T5 fixture before the end of the year.

Well made it to NJ, and settled in Blairstown. Tank, sump, and t5 fixture were damaged by movers. This claim with the movers really blows, they are trying to low-ball me on the items price. Atleast my wife and kids are healthy.

First off, welcome! My daughter recently moved back from San Diego and the moving truck had a hole in the roof. Everything was soaking wet......couches, TV, etc. The settlement (and this was in the original contract that you never read), was a dollar per pound. Had nothing to do with the actual worth of the items. We didn't even bother.

the claim is really starting to seem like its going nowhere, ill give it another week then give up.

Only things worth saving are the power-heads, and dry rock, most everything else destroyed. Looks like ill be without a tank for about a year or until my wife isn't mad anymore.

First off welcome to NJRC, and Wow that stinks so close and then to have things like that happen. I've never had to pay movers (all my friends own big trucks and like beer LOL) but if I ever do ill be paying close attention to any fine print in the contract. Good luck and if you look around you can find plenty of tanks around used if you don't have the cash to go new
