Next Group Buy - Lighting

This is just a Heads Up that the next group buy will most likely be Lighting. Bulbs - Ballasts - Fixtures. We will go with a full service place that can offer everything. So far I've been offered 20%...20% ? I said with a Phyl like smirk. You've got to do better than that:) I think we'll get it up to 25 or even higher.

This place has contacts within URI and can get bulbs dropshipped pretty cheap if we get the number up.

I think Jason is talking to Icecap directly, I'm calling other places.
Look for the buy to take place starting around April 1st and going to mid April, delivery by the end of April.

I would like to get a preliminary idea of our spending power. Might help with the negotiations. Just a rough estimate of what you think you might spend on anything lighting related.

I'll start - I'm anywhere from 2 uri bulbs for $40 to a new Icecap 660 and 4 Uri Bulbs for around $300.
Now that's a Rough Estimate, Rough on my Wallet:)

I would be interested because I just picked up a 90 and need more light. I had a 55 with a PC and I would like to see what I could pick up a MH or T5 for.

I'm looking to get rid of my freshwater fish in a 46" bowfront tank and moving my reef to that. So if I can find a good home for them, I'll need to get some lighting for that tank.

I'm looking for new T5 72" reflectors and new endcaps? Just bought all the bulbs I need, but I'm thinking of putting in new reflectors.

I'd be in for 2 - 80W T5 actinic replacements. I think URI makes them now and are distributed by Ice Cap. Not sure though.

2x250w ReefLux (these HAVE to be part of the buy or else   :'(  I'll be sad)
4x65 replacement PC bulbs

Might need a VHO ballast as well.

Count me in on this one. I'm going to need a bunch of stuff.. Preferably a place that sells MH reflectors and such. I'm not sure Icecap does, but I will be in for a few ballasts and bulbs for sure.

I will want 3 HQI bulbs $240.00
And maybe a t-5 Retro kit 72" 6 bulb $500.00-$600.00
Maybe a couple 6' VHOs $30.00 each

I'd be up for at least 4 T5 55watt bulbs. (2 URI actinics if they have em & 2 daylight).
possibly an icecap ballast and more depending on the discounts

It takes time to negotiate with vendors. This thread is here for a guestimate on what the volume will be. The next step is negotiations. Most companies are not available to answer questions like these on the weekend. As soon as the deal is firm it will be posted in the member forum. We will likely not post the discount percentages in the general forums as that might hinder the discount offered by the vendors.

Keep your eyes peeled!
