Make sure there is enough salt left to go back into the tank when doing a large water change because scraping all the salt creep you can find is no fun... :(

tsk tsk tsk aren't you making up your water change water at least 12-24 hours in advance, with a powerhead & heater and then checking salinity before you start draining any water out?

not today.. :-\ :p the frogspwn ejected more polyps and not everything was looking to happy so i went for it today since it's been a little while. but everything has looked good on the tests minus a little low mag and calcium. What i was making stuff up in got boxes piled on top this week in the basement so i need to dig it out.

I'm close enough for tonight just gotta get some salt tomorrow and add top off the tank

I thought you weren't supposed to put that salt back into your tank. I remember reading something about those solidified salts from evaporation having a heavier metal content.
