Nicole and I just got back from Aruba where for the first time we went Scuba diving. We have been snorkeling, SNUBA, and we finally took the plunge (HA) and did a dive. I took a look at trip advisor and orginally was looking for SNUBA but only found one and it did not look great. However, I found a person who was very highly rated and offered first timers a diving course followed by a beginner dive. We said what the heck and went for it and it was amazing. Looks like we will be getting certified soon. This dive was essentially the first part of getting PADI certified (as the emails have led me to belive) and we will probably finish it up here in Jersey so we can hit the reefs when we travel again.
The experience was great and our dive master had a camera and took a bunch of pics (free of charge) so we could just dive and have fun. He also knew exactly where to get good pictures and find cool stuff. The only thing he did not get a good picture of was a colony of pearly headed jawfish which was really cool to see.
So as we always say, This Thread is Worthless Without Pics:
We walked into the water through a little mangrove forest:
We learned the basics in about chest deep water where we found this little guy:
Big hermit:
Atlantic blue tang:
Deeper we go...
