My algae filtration has been a little too much for my system. I've been getting 0 ppm measurements (Phosphorus Hanna Checker) for my phosphates and the same 0 ppm measurements (Hi Range Hanna Checker) for my nitrates. I'm currently using Sea Chem's Flourish to boost my phosphates and Brightwell's NeoNitro to boost my nitrates.
I could increase my fish feeding, but my fish already eat very well. I could also cut back on the quantity of algae I have or the photoperiods I'm using, but both of these will involve a lot of testing and a lot of tweaking.
Anyone have any suggestions for less expensive readily available chemicals that will do the same boosting as the ones I'm using? Using the two that I am using is going to get expensive! I'd give preference to any chemical solutions that don't require shaking before use.
Thank you!
