Overdriving Fluorescent lights

never heard of that.. would have to research it a little more..

but my icecap 660 ballast overdrives T5HO Lamps. a 54w lamp is driven to 80w...

Billy using the IceCap 330 or 660 ballasts you don't need to do this as the ballast already does it for you, but I'm sure YOU already know this!

The 330/660 will take a 54W bulb and on average generate the equiv of 84 watts. Some bulbs do even better. UV brand seems to do about the best among T5s. The IceCap ballast will work with T5, T6, T8 or T12 bulbs and can make a 4 bulb "IceCap" setup work as well or better then many other 6 bulb setups. (4x84=336 watts) versus (6x54=324 watts). Of course with fewer bulbs you get more reflection so the end result is even better then the numbers indicate assuming you have decent reflectors.
