Overflow question?

Planning on getting a 75 gal tank, not reef ready and was wondering whats the best way to get overflows installed in the tank,I dont really like the overflow box's,would rather see the corner inserts(?) any ideas, opinions or leads would help. And also would a mag 12 pump be ok for a 75? ???

The bottom glass is tempered and can't be drilled like a normal corner overflow. You may be able to the back glass as long as it is not tempered also.

A mag 12 may be ok depending on how much head height you will have in the plumbing and how many outlets you plan on having. Plus whether or not you plan to feed a refugium or skimmer off of the same return pump.
If you can give us a little more info on your plumbing plans we can help to better recommend an appropriate pump.

I would be going straight from the sump up to the tank, maybe a mag 9 would be ok,I have a mag 9 on my 90 now, wondering if thats too small(?) On the 90 I have a 1 1/2 pvc elbow(bulkhead fitting) top left hand side and goes to the sump below kinda a diy seems to be ok,but someone said that wasnt enough turnover.Soooo,if I can do mag 12 on the 90 I could use the mag 9 on the 75...thnks for the help/suggestions

The bottom is tempered, but if the back isn't, you could go with a "coast to coast" overflow and drill the back.

As for the return, I'm using a mag 9 on my 75, and the return is fine with that.

lol...I just posted the same response about the calfo overflow, then read this thread. If you are handy and can make it - I think that solution is ideal. Anyways - I agree with matt! ;D

Here's a couple pics of my calfo-style overflow. The tank builder said it's important to make the overflow big enough to allow you to install the bulkheads and elbows etc.
