Pacquiao vs Hatton MAY 2, 2009

I haven't seen much OUT OF THE WATER questions so here is a straight curve ball!

who do you see winning and why! i hate biased opinions without reason.

pac = fast with an extreme amount of heart

hatton = strength especially fighting at his weight class

pac has shown become absolutely well-rounded and less reckless in the previous two fights. hatton will get to see speed, power and determination from a true p4p king. pac wins by tko rd 9-10.

I agree completely, except I don't see it going past round 6 or 7. Hatton is a true warrior (actually, they're two of my favorite fighters right now) but Pacquiao has transformed himself into a tactically accurate ANIMAL. The guy has speed and power and knows how to finish off an opponent. He's just an animal. Hatton may have a shot at lasting a little longer because the dude can certainly take a licking but I just don't see anyone putting up with the punishment Pacquiao dishes out so rapidally. He dismantled Dela Hoya so badly it was almost sad (I say almost because Dela Hoya can't get beaten badly enough for me).

Did you happen to catch Ricky coming out in the "Sumu" robe and the Fatton hat at his last fight? Damn, that was funny! I really like the guy a lot but I just can't see him having a good showing at this one.

i see how people figure 6 or 7 but looking at hatton and his fights, creating a different style that will last until rounds 6 or 7 then after he will resort to one-dimensional due to getting pounded and notice the actual speed difference. his want for getting p4p is good enough to get him past 6 or 7.

i think pac will get his first knockdown within those rounds and finish off on 9/10. i think too many people are doubting the amount of power and ability of hatton to get the fights to the later rounds cause of how pac destroyed diaz and odlh.

think about it. it took pac about 8-9 rounds to knock out those two out. hatton is a lot tougher.

I think it will be a very good fight. The styles of these fighters should match up very well. I think it's going to one long brawl, probably with knockdowns on both sides. There shouldn't be much dancing or holding going on. Hatton's a good fighter. His last fight against Malignaggi was dominating, admittedly Pauli has no punching power, but to make up for it he has excellent boxing skills - which Hatton completely nullified and proceeded to beat the crap out of Pauli. But, I don't think Ricky has ever come up against somebody like the Pacquiao. The Pacman's got tremendous handspeed, but his punches have knockout power behind them. Ricky's gonna look worse than Oscar by the 10 and likely be taking a nap.

Pacquiao will take this fight. Hatton is a strong fighter but only fights at a very close range and that will work against him with Pacquiao. He is too fast and and strong hitter, Hatton has a good chance if he could find a way to hold Pacquiao down.

Hmmm . . . Well, I was right about Pacquiao being an animial! Unfortunately, I gave Hatton too much credit. It's a shame, the guy is a good fighter but WOW did he whalopped tonight. One of the BEST knockouts I've ever seen. The super slo-mo shots are insane. That poor SOB gets clobbered.

That fight was crazy...it only took 2 rounds for Pacman to finish the fight. i feel so bad for Hatton i thought the guy was going into a coma that they had to put him on his side so that he can regain his composure. His eyes were wobbling for like 15 seconds. Not only that...i felt so bad for the people who paid to watch the fight. Manny should have at least let Hatton fight for a few rounds since i think after he almost knocked Hatton in the 1st round alone he should have known that he can easily knock him out with his speed. Hatton just couldn't keep up with Manny's speed. Well i guess we'll have to wait until Pacman fights the next better oponent and we all know who it might be.
