Peninsula Tank Flow.. Peninsula Tank Owners Sound Off!

I put my tunzes in a configuration where there is good upper level turbulence with mild flow at the lower levels. It's a 300 gallon so it took time and plenty of fiddling. I have 2 on the weir side and one on the opposite wall. Makes a great mix. 2 are rated up to 300 g or so and one is larger 500g. Don't remember numbers. But it did take time to work out. The penninsula design is a bit of a challenge.

Good question. Would like to know what some others are doing as well since I'm upgrading my 75g to a 120g. I currently have just a single MP40, but will be picking up a 2nd MP40 for the new tank.

My current tank is just setup with the single MP40 on the glass facing the "wall side" and it's positioned about 4" from the top and just to the left of my peninsula rockwork in the center. Other than that, all I have is my Mag 9.5 return with a Y split loc-line on the discharge end. I have one pointing slightly downwards along the "back" wall of the rockwork and the other points slightly downward and across to the "front" side of the tank. This basically gives me a pretty decent flow around my rock work in an oval pattern, with the one cross-flow loc-line giving me some minor turbulence and mixing it up.

My new setup will house all of my electrical components and controller in my tall side cabinet, which will be on the "wall side". That means I might not be able to keep an MP40 on the side where my current one sits. I do believe I will need both of these with this side tank, but I probably can't put them both on the same side as the side cabinet (facing away from the wall) because I have the single corner overflow model and that takes up almost half of that side glass. I might be able to do one high and one low, but that might be an issue with stirring up the sand.

I think I might have to find a way to put them on opposite sides. Maybe I can run the wire up into the canopy and over to the tall side canopy? I think the power cord should be long enough. So, here's kind of what I think mine might look like:

However, I also really like what Jim (downbeach) did with the PVC pipe under the rockwork with holes drilled (pointing up and into the rockscape itself), with a tunze feeding the tube. I might end up adding that to the plan before I start transferring everything.
