I'm getting ready to switch fish, rock, coral to the new 75g- the ph in my tank is 7.8 or so, my R/O water is neutral 7.0. Should I do something to increase the ph in the new water or should I just drip acclimate the fish, and keep the coral in another tanks until the ph raises naturally

DO NOT CHASE PH!!!

Assuming the alk and calc are within an acceptable range, your pH is determined by dissolved carbon dioxide in the water. If you want to raise your pH, stop breathing! :oo:

I wouldn't worry since difference is negligible.
I do agree with Paul. He gave that advice when I first started this hobby. Since I stopped chasing much better results and just kept alk / calc in range.

The ph will increase when you add salt mix.
Depending on what salt you use the ph should go up.
in my opinion acclimating corals is a waste of time.
They don’t really care about those swings. Temp/salinity/ph.

corals will adjust just don’t keep them at that level. 7.9 is low
You want ph around 8.2 -8.3.

I am at the opposite side of the ph discussion.
I believe ph is more important than any other parameter.
Since I am dosing 2 part my alk and calcium almost never change.
my temp never changes. Salinity is also kept perfect with ato.
The only parameter in my system that I find difficult to control is ph.
My tank is in the basement. I have air exchange and that helps keep my ph up.
I dose kalk to raise my ph. I don’t run a calcium reactor because I don’t want my ph to drop. I run a refugium to raise ph.

My PH swings between 8-8.2 throughout a 24 hour period according to my APEX even though I dose my alk and run the refugium light at night and run a tube from my skimmer air intake to the outside. I'm thinking about adding kalk at night as well to help stabilize it.

I am a big kalk fan. I dose it at night with a doser.
kalk is so cheap I paid $30 for a bucket and I still have a year later.
I feel like everyone should be dosing kalk to help with the stability in all tanks.

I've been using salifert but am tired of guessing between colors. Just used my xmas amazon gift card for a hanna egg. No way to probe checkers. They have to be kept wet in a storage solution and occasionally calibrated, this hobby demands enough of my time, I want simple.

I did the kalk thing early on I just didn’t like how it “gummed” everything up I was constantly cleaning my ATO eye because it was getting that white calcified film on it from the Kalk. Very harsh on equipment

I did not like it for same reasons and stopped dosing it years ago. Now I use All for Reef with good results so far.

Same here. I'd have to scrape my ato sensor clean every week. No more kalk for me. I'm starting 2 part with the brs stuff. I'll be watching to see how using soda ash for alk keeps my ph.
