PH

There are buffers that will drop pH, but you'd be better off determining why your pH is high and trying to adjust for it. Are you dosing 2 part? Other additives? What substrate are you using? What is your current pH and what did you use to test it? Are you dosing Kalk?

My fault, I corrected my alk and Cal and the PH raised a bit. Just need a temporary adjustment back to 8.3. Used ESV B-Ionic Component NO.1 Alkalinity
ESV B-Ionic Component NO.2 Calcium

Thanks, the selzer water worked great to drop the PH, simple and cheap, BUT, next time tell the nob (like me) to read the directions!! PH droped like a brick <7.4 Buffering now and have it back to 8.3 range. Small panic session. LOL ::)
Thanx

Yeah... we all have those RTFD moments... glad it worked... just monitor it for awhile to make sure nothing is affected by the swings, and keep checking pH to make sure it remains stable.

I was thinking- Its just carbonated water, Ill just dump in the first can and see what happens!! Just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna get some ice cubes and vodka and dispose of the rest.

I'd check to make sure you're stable before doing anything else... however after a stressful reef caring day, you may want to put the ice cubes in a glass, pour the vodka over them and dose yourself!

Yah Whitebird1 you want to be careful when adding that stuff but it works great. carbonated water[/b ]Meaning , I have allot of CO2 in me :)P Stay away from pH lowering buffers as most are Phosphate based. So how high did this pH get anyway ?

Before the seltzer, blue off the chart, after the seltzer, yellow off the chart, now a nice light green 8.3 No damage except for my nerves.
