Phosban and carbon in the same reactor?

i just got me a nextreef mr1 media reactor for my 140 gallon system and i was told that you shouldn't put the phosban in the same reactor with carbon cause the flow rate should be different between the two medias. my question is how many of you out there run the two in the same reactor and how affective is it at phosphate removal?

You must be careful running it that way. They both need different flows. If you have too much flow running thru your Phos, it pulverizes the Phos which is poisonous. A lot of people do have success doing it your way tho.
