Please help me identify this

Sorry I don't have a pic. Yesterday at SMCooler's I picked up a soft coral that was green and it grows out about 1" looks a little like really bright green grass. It's one that should spread pretty easy and quick I believe and would grow on the pump return lines etc. It's the only one that didn't make it. Everything else is doing well. Can anyone help me id this so I could try to get some more (don't know what to ask for at this point). Don't mind the $, just don't know the name of it.

Thanks.

when the green things aren't sticking out is the base purple with little bumps where the "grass blades" stick out? if so then definitely green star polyps.

Yup. That's it thanks. That's odd though because when I google up green star polyps the images I see aren't anything like this.

yup GSP. you probably didn't kill it. it's just getting used to your tank i bet. i think you really have to try to kill it... it's one of those corals.

may take longer than a day or two before it maybe acclimates to your water params.

good luck.

Cool, I can wait a few days. Yeah, I think it was more neon green. Now that I know the name though I've googled it up and am pretty sure (as sure as a newb can be lol) that it's a neon green star polyp. I'll wait a few days and if it doesn't come back then will try to get a new one somewhere. thanks.
