power heads or CLS

What do you guys recommend? I like the wavemakers and controllers for the powerheads because of all the options of currents, but Im not crazy about numerous big power heads in the tank. CLS looks great, but a lot of planning to get good flow. Or do you recommend doing both say have a CLS powering spray bars to keep the bottom clean and then have powerheads with a controller for flow

Closed loop looks better and depending on how you do it, it could have enough flow to take care of any size tank.

Power heads are just more convenient and for people who don't want to drill thier tank.

If it's possible to go closed loop I say do it.

I am really planning on it. I have the drill bits for 1/2" up to 1.5" bulkheads, just dont really know how to design it. I know I want to go with two 3/4" fittings on the bottom to feed a spray bar setup to keep the floor nice and clean, also do 2 1.5" inputs for the CLS but Im not sure how to do other returns, I want a lot of flow and of course a good flow setup. I know lots of people do CLS but I cant really seem to find any help on them

I am in the process of setting up a 120 long with a CLS. I am not setting up a spraybar on the bottom. I have two 1.5" dumps out the back of the tank down to a Reeflo Dart pump, then up to a 1.5" manifold that completely circles around the top of the tank with 10ea. of 3/4" Loclines. The guy that owned this before had a similar setup only with a Reeflo Barracuda and he said it was way too much flow. So I am trying with the Dart. Should be just right. The manifold will be hidden by the canopy.
