Protein skimmer on the fritz again

Once again my very sensitive Tunze 9010 protein skimmer is not skimming properly.

On Sunday I added four new coral fargs to my tank: 2 different zoas, a blue tort and a five head acan frag. To secure three of the coral pieces I used the putty made by "two little fishies". Since than my skimmer has been overflowing when I turn it to its normal out put. Could this be from the putty? I thought that the problem would have subsided by today but it has not. None of the coral is releasing any toxins that I can see and they all look healthy.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? Should I give my skimmer another vinegar bath to fix the problem.

Thanks for your thoughts - Jon

Obviously not skimmer is not liking something (slime that you cannot see?). Can just try to tune it but giving it a bath is probably the better option.

Did the same exact thing on sunday withj the epoxy and the skimmer went nuts overflowing. i turned down the flow for a day or 2 and its all cleared up now

Thanks for the comments. Today I closed the air valve for about three hours and than opened it back up. Since than it has cleared up and seems to be working well. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only person with this problem. I was getting ready the throw my skimmer out the window. The thing is super sensitive...
