Question on plumping tank

Is it outside or inside the tank? Drain or supply? Vent on overflow? I have a couple of mine that are not glued for cleaning purposes but they are all inside the tank and on the non pressure side of the pump.

It's my overflow side . And it is a slip fitting

Should be fine with just a snug fit as long as there is no pump forcing water through that could push it off the pipe. As long as it is inside the tank and it popping off wouldn't flood your sump or something like that. My overflow is fitted hand rite with no glue and if it does come off even at its lowest point my sump has enough room in it to catch all the water in the overflow box plus the extra water coming from the tank in the event that I lose the overflow pipe and power shuts off the pumps and skimmer. HTH

I always use teflon tape and screw it firmly in, but with enough play to turn it a quarter turn if I want to adjust tank level. It's never leaked that way for me. I don't use slip fittings for bulkheads or unions.

I'm not sure on that I'm useing the bean animals c2c . Something that's going to sit in my sump . This will be my first sump set up I'm not sure about heat I won't have a chiller but our house is at 67 68 year round .

What size and how many bulkheads are being used for the drain?

I'm getting about 500gph after head loss and my system works great.

I'm useing 3 1" bulkheads then tee off with 1.5 " the rest of the way

If you have 3 1" bulkheads draining I would not suggest combining them to a 1.5" pipe. You would essentially be reducing your drain by half. If you have to combine them you want to combine then to at least a 3" pipe.

3 one inch lines draining a 75 seems like a lot to me. How long is the tank?

Sorry. Posted before I saw your last post. I have 1- 1 1/4 drain on my 58 with a 20 gallon sump and a 1262 ehiem pump for the return. It still seems like overkill on your drain setup. When you say 1 1/2 reducing to 1 is that 1 the size of your return line?

I think I get it now...lol. If I remember correctly the bean animal set up runs one drain as a full siphon (main drain), one almost like a durso, and one as an emergency. If so you should have no problem moving 600-800 gph if not more. As far as a pump you have a lot of options. You could go for a mag 7 which a lot of people use, if you want a little better pump with a bit less heat and energy consumption look at the water blaster hy-3000, or you could get something like the diablo dc3500 which is very energy efficient and has adjustable flow.
