Question

I have some zoo polyps on a small rock that my hermits keep knocking it over. Looking for suggestions on what type of glue to use to mount on a larger rock.

You can either use gel superglue or plumber's putty. If you get the superglue Loc-Tite is good from Walmart (better than crazy glue). I still haven't tacked mine down and it really is a pain when they get pushed around.

I like the 2 part epoxy putty that you have to knead between your hands, it is reef safe and affordable, your skimmer will go nuts for a few days but thats about all, you will need a chisel to remove it. Think its called reef stix??? its in the dr fosters catalog.

I tried using the reef stick. Followed the directions, but when I put the rock in water couldn't get it to stick to anything.

I usually add a dab of superglue to the surface of the putty than stick that to either the rock or frag. The putty is better at filling in gaps and the superglue is better at sticking. Together they work real well.

Aquastick..

Its a putty / two part epoxy.. I never glue underwater with superglue..

The thing you need to remember about putty, its not glue, its an epoxy. This means for it to work, you have to get some into the crevices on your frag, and some in the crevices on the rock you are mounting to.. If you put it on like glue and expect it to hold, it won't work. It works by hardening up and securing the crevices together..

Hope ya follow that, kinda confusing, but kinda hard to explain as well
