Rainbow ricordea from group buy

i had read ricordea do best in lower light, so I placed the rainbows I got from the group buy (and one from the January meeting) on the sandbed by rock. One kept moving so I placed it higher on a rock and the colors that have come out are amazing. Check out the blues on the one that’s placed higher in the tank.

How often do we do group buys, and how come I never heard of them. I’ve been a club member for years? Is there any special place these group buys are posted? That mushroom is amazing. I would have probably wanted to get in on that buy.

2 went into a tank with hermits, think they we're ripped up (I fragging hate hermits).

The other 2 in the main tank?
No idea.

not all of them were attached to rubble to glue. For those I’ll just place where I want them if the current allows. It doesn’t always work out. I’ve been waiting for a couple to attach to plugs in small platic cups in the frag tank.

The ones that I had that didn't have rubble attached, I placed in a dish with freshwater aquarium gravel until they attached. Then I glued them where I wanted. Still have one that is funky. It's a long ric that is twisted

These rics are amazing. I didn’t glue either, figured I’d lay them out by the rock base and let them attach themselves. Now I figure I’ll glue the higher one and move the others nearby and see what happens. They are amazing.

David, last I saw there was another group forming for this buy. The saving on these mushrooms was amazing-13 or so per polyp.

I don't bother with glue, I have the attitude of dump it in and it will find it's place.
If they float I do use a wooden guide rod to coax them to where I'd like them to be, then I leave it up to them to figure out the rest.

The only reason I'm tempted to glue is my urchin tends to pick up what it can. But it has left these ric's alone so far so more than likely I'll wait it out. They've been in a while without being piked up

I will call PayPal on Monday and see if I can straighten out the issue, so I can participate in the buy. The ricordias I currently have, are doing very well, so I have a good chance of success with these as well. The problem is I set up a paypal account about 15 or so years ago. It won’t let me reset the password, bc I can’t answer the security questions. The questions have no relevance to me. It won’t let me set up a new account, bc there’s already an account on that email address. I been trying to fix it for years. The payed membership fee is reasonable enough and worth it to get additional access.

That’s funny. PayPal denied me a while back because my phone number is associated with a paypal account that I never had. Didn’t really care and don’t use it. My wife has PayPal so when I HAVE to use it. She does it.

I have tried the old netting mesh around the rubble to get them to stay put. Doesnt always work. Sometimes at night they shrink up and relocate....
I had gotten a cool large mushroom that kept floating away so I took needle and thread and actually pierced a piece of the foot with a pinhole and then tied to the rock. Worked. Once it attacked to the rock I cut the thread and removed.
