Add a cup or two of sand from an established tank.
Live rock will also seed the sand.

A lot of people have also had success with Garf's Grunge. I agree with Mike though, get a cup of live sand from a fellow reefer.

There's really two aspects to re-seeding LS. One is based on the theory that LS gives up some buffering to the tank over time. Re-seeding then entails removing a portion of the LS and adding in some new aragonite sand.

The other is to replenish the organisms that live in the LS. LS really just means sand that is coated with bacteria thereby adding to the bio-filter of the aquarium. Adding LR usually adds much more than just bacteria as there many small organisms living on the rock that also conlonize the LS. In a healthy tank these organisms will bloom and die off depending on the conditions in the tank. Rarely will a population die off completely.

So in a healthy tank, re-seeding is actually just adding to the bio-diversity within the tank. I added LR from several sources when I set my tank up and got LS from several sources as well.

If your in the Princeton - Hillsborough area I could spare a cup for you.
