I would bet the overall height is 8' with stand and hood included. If not, that's a 1700 gallon tank!

That's my guess as well..overall height being eight feet. So I'd guess the tank is about 5 1/2 feet high.

Come on...we need a club member who has a cathederal ceiling to buy this puppy. I’ll help you move it!

Hey, how'd you get a picture? It looks (from the info) like they never put water in it. There's also some extra equipment like a 2500G water storage tank.

That sump or wet/dry looks tragically small, though!

btw, if anyone was interested this thing was sold for $7,500 or $7,800. Supposedly, the original purchased price was 75K.

The owner of the property purchased it because there were just too many unknown questions.. like how to get it out of the building.

I heard people talking about "cutting it in half" to get it out of the building. The auction house also required a specific insurance company snd policy purchase .. that didn't appear to be negotiable. I can understand that the owner wanted to protect himself, but that probably kept potential bidders at bay.

On the other end of the spectrum... everything else sold EXTREMELY high. I mean, at or over e-bay prices (inc shipping often). I was really surprised at how people can bid on something w/o doing any research. The people whom purchased the Dell OptiPlex 755's paid WAY over ebay price and the ebay price was new with the newest processors (core 2 duo's vs the auctions Intel first gen Dual Core ship.)

Auctions are crazy, it's like a madness takes over you. I have been guilty of succumbing to this. The worst is, for antiques, some people come in without going to the inspection and bid stuff way too high, stuff that you can't tell from back in the audience has been slathered with cheap paint, rusted solid, the back half is missing...it's amazing to see. Thanks for the info, I would have been wondering forever.
