Recharging GFO??

I was wondering if anyone locally has tried to recharge GFO using NaOH?

I did try it. It seamed to work. I had reused my GFO several times and my levels stayed low. I didn't do it in the quantities they talk about. I just found Rooto crystals at my local Ace Hardware for like $3. I believe I used about 30 grams to a liter and threw in about 50 grams of GFO. I let it sit a few days (mixing occationally) then rinsed it with RO water. It did seam to take forever to rinse it afterwards. Seamed to be alot of real tiny particles. Just be careful using the lye, it can burn you, if you don't know.

I'm now using biopellets and am very happy with them and they're less expensive and messy.
