Just tried the High Sensitivity Test Kit for Phosphate I won in the raffle at MACNA. It's made by D-Deltec aquarium solutions ( www.d-daquariumsolutions.com ). Very easy to use and very little guess work with the way you compare the colours. I only have my Hagen Master Test Kit to compare it to but I definitely give it two thumbs up.
BTW, my test came up between 0 and 0.008 mg/l. 0 of course is "optimum" Anything under 0.008 is considered "good". The next level is 0.015 which is considered "acceptable for saltwater". The next level is 0.03 mg/l which indicates the phosphate will act as a fertilizer for algae growth and will inhibit calcification. So it looks like phosphate isn't one of my problems at this point anyway.
I wonder if I would have given it two thumbs up had my level been above 0.03?
