does anyone know about a crab called red hot crab? i bought one today in pet shanty in 22, they said it is reef safe and functions like the emerald. its red but the two legs behind are black... if anyone is familiar with this please let me know.. i tried to search online but couldnt find any site that sells or has any info about this... ill try to take pics if he is not hiding.

I had red mythrax crabs that came with my order of live rock from www.liverocks.com but they weren't reef safe. I don't know if these are the same things, but the ones I ended up with mowed down a colony of yellow star polyps. I don't remember their back legs being a different color (you would think I'd have remembered that)... I'm pretty sure these were all red. Maybe do a search for a red mythrax and see if that's what you have?

I also found not one but 2 of these crabs (the very ends of their large claws have black tips) in my reef tank, I threw them in my QT tank as I would not trust them to be reef safe.
