It's been years....and I'm terrible with time....maybe 10-12 years ago, we'd donate $$, I think around 5000, to Ken Nedimyer of Coral Restoration FOundation. We did that at least twice because both times he came up and gave a talk, which was extremely interesting. Some of our club members actually went down to Florida to help out....I know Big Ed ( @Edwardw771 ) was one of the ones who helped. The one thing I remember was their discovery of hanging the corals in the nursery caused for more rapid growth of the frags to prepare them for repopulating dead reefs. We also had club members who stated that they were going to try the hanging thing in their tanks. Not aware of anyone ever doing that. Good stuff!
