Reefkeeper Lite & BRS Dosing pumps

My brother got me a Reefkeeper Lite with the SL1 and 2 BRS dosing pumps, I'm planning on using it for dosing only for now.
My question is:
Do I need to update the head unit?.......can it be setup to keep the pH more stable or constant?
I know Paul is a big fan of the Reefkeeper Controller.

Don't control the PH. It's a result of many factors including the co2 concentration in the atmosphere. I use it purely as a reference. If it changes too much I try to identify the cause.

Unfortunately the SID cable Paul offered me is the v1.0 which needs to be sent to Digital Aquatics to be updated to v2.0 so I'm still looking for a SID v2.0 cable that I can borrow.

I might have an extra SID you can have. I will check tomorrow and let you know. You also need a female/female adapter to update the head unit. If I don't have an extra adapter i'll let you borrow it.
