Anyone using either of these?
Heard great things about both as well as nightmares about both, any help would be great.
Thanks

You can get the Neptune AC3 used for a really good price now over at RC since the new APEX from Neptune is being released soon.

I have the elite also and really like the concept of it being modular. I also have read about nightmares with it not turning on metal halides but i bought the first set of units and never had those problems but i did do the updates as they came out. I know its $500 which is alot but it has so many features and they keep on adding more all the time i thinks its really work it.

My brother Dan just got the Lite for his 90g this past weekend. So far all is working well and it seems like it was pretty easy to set up. I plan on getting an RKL as well in a month or so.
What's nice about the Lite is it can be upgraded to an Elite for no extra cost right through Digital Aquatics.
Can't really beat the price for the lite for aLl it can do and will do with the newer modules and firmware updates.

The only thing I don't like about the elite is the lack of a 12v wave maker support. Also if you get the moonlites, don't get them wet. Mine fell off my light (secured temp with gaffers tape) and I woke up this morning to find three out of four of them dead sitting in the water. :(

i'm confused about the 12v wavemaker support. care to elaborate?

Wavemaker A/B and C/D pump control
We've expanded our old wavemaker control to include a "D" mode. Now you can set up multiple pairs of power heads to get all the turbulent flow you need!

It will only turn on and off 120 volt powerheads. Every 120v powerhead seems to have issues being turned on and off like that. For example my koralia 3's click like crazy and it scares the bejesus out of my fish so I don't use the wavemaker option.

it's just the koralias.. if you stick a piece of tubing where the extra shaft is between the shroud and the impeller it won't jump like that. my 2's do that sometimes when i plug them back in it's not the wavemaker.

maxi jets have no problems like that

I know the tubing trick, it's not the same trust me. This is the only downside of the elite that I have encountered. Everything else about it is great.

ok im getting ready to use a wavy sea maker so i can't comment much...:pthe koralias have that issue especially early models with exception of Magnum series.
