I purchased their 300w light and was disappointed in it- it didn't seem very bright and the white's were kind of yellowish- so I returned it and posted a negative review on amazon- they just reached out to me via email and offered a new unit for free- I accepted and am now waiting to see what happens-

Make sure to give an update on the new ones!
Will do. After returning the first one I bought 2 165W reef Relassy's from @amado which work fine. I recently bought a 75g which is sitting n a bench while I work out and build a stand and filtration, hoping it will work for that tank or use a combo of the others and use it for the 40b

I was considering these lights. Did read reviews about how yellow the lights can be. Seems to be hit n miss. I decided not to purchase them. Picked up used Ocean Revive from Amado and happy with them.

My biggest problem was with the brightness of the blues with a bit of white- I have a couple of black boxes that are 165w and the light I got was not nearly as bright, and when I turned up the whites, it was too yellow- more of a light for a fresh water tank- but it's free, so I'll take another look- I do like the 165w Relaasy lights I got from Amado

I ran most of these lights over different frag tanks In the same system.
I was very surprised how well those lights worked. Spectrum and par where very similar. in my opinion the ocean revive is a very good light.
it actually is the best of the black box lights. The ocean revive don’t really have that
hot spot that you get with other black boxes. i also liked the relaasy lights. But it wasn’t
as consistent from light to light. The ocean revive are the same from box to box.

I think all reef lights will grow corals. you don’t need to spend a lot of money on lights.

Got the new unit today- not like the 300w slim model looks more like the 165w model with whites/blue- seems much brighter than the 165w I have- I checked out the model number and can't find it- maybe new?- HG: AL 08-01- says it's 600w- will take a better look tomorrow- it is definitely a keeper though

Nope,, looks like the 165w- 24 lights- same size as the 165 too- just blue/ white/pink- wish I had access to a par meter to compare
for a down and dirty comparison. Download Lux Meter and see what they both show. I use it and from light to my screen I get a little over 19,000 lux.
