Removing my anemone attached in the sand/glass

How do you remove an anemone that is attached to the glass bottom/sand? Will i hurt it if i just try pushing my fingers between the glass and the anemone?

Thank You,

~Nick

You could pester the anemone and the foot a bit just make sure you do not injure the foot. Or if it's walking, you could put something against the glass in its way and move it when it's attached to to the object.

what kind of anemone?

If it has latched to a spot - you'll want to adjust your powerheads...direct current will get it to move again. Make sure you cover the intakes of your PHs.

In the past my gbta would move around (lost a couple of acros). I would rub my finger against the base and the LR and it roll up and back. Thank God it found a spot it likes!

use your finger gently, or insert a credit card slowly between the anemone and the glass to remove it.

Thanks for the help i got out and in the new tank.
He should have lots more room now. I'm not sure what type it is...

I'm asking what type because certain species of anemone prefer the sand...while others need to be on LR. Maybe you could snap a pic?

Take an ice cube to the foot of the anemone, but do not apply for long period of time.
Just tease the foot with it by placing the ice on it and taking it off. He or it should start to peal off.
I have done it a few times.. I worked for me. But never peal him off you may tear him apart.

Thanks guys,
I used my finger and it worked. Moved it over to the new tank Thursday? and seem to be happy, alittle bleach/clear looking though but i fed it some silver-side and it ate that like it was candy.

It has always moved around in the sand once or twice it moved against a rock. Wouldn't it move up the rock if it wanted to be on the rock or not? :-\

Edit:
If you think you can ID it go ahead I've asked before (not here i don't think) Sorry for the bad pic i took it while it was eating earlier
