Removing scratches from a Glass tank

Has anyone tried to remove scratches from a glass tank? Is this even possible? I have two scratches that I want to be removed.

I don't know if there is a fix, but I have lots of deep scratches so I am definitely tailing along just in case there is an answer.

I know that some company designed some solution for eyeglasses, years ago, that supposely removed scratches from eye glasses. But, if something sounds too good...... well you know how it is.

i use a hammer and can never find a single scratch after :p

but seriously i always took it as glass has no remedy for a scratch but its harder to get the initial scratch as oppose to acrylic that can be buffed out but scratches easily. one of these 2 also hold in heat better then the other ( i cant remember which but its besides the point) so to answer this, i dont think theres anything you can do besides buy a new glass tank.

I wonder if those acrylate glass fixing kits they sell for automobiles would help cover the scratches. I've used them for rock dings for cars and they worked pretty good. Are your scratches on the inside or outside?

The only way you can remove scratches from a glass tank is if the scratch area is dry and you cerium oxide with a glass polishing dish on your drill machine. Cerium-oxide is non-toxic and is used for polishing high quality lenses. It's a slow process and you have to make sure you go slow otherwise you will crack the glass. I've done it before and it took me about 4 hours to remove a single scratch that was about 4 inches long. Only drawback is that I had to buy a large quantity of cerium oxide (much more than I needed).
