Rod's Reef Fish/Coral Food...Anyone use?

Has anyone used this stuff or know of people that have used it. I have been doing reading on it and people say that their tanks go crazy for it. Made up of quality stuff:

INGREDIENTS: Shrimp, scallop, oyster, clam, Squid, octopus, enriched brine, krill, mysis, grouper, Frozen Red Plankton, broccoli, carrots, colliflower, Red Nori, green nori, selco, garlic, Golden pearls (all sizes), DTs oyster eggs, nutra rose powder, fresh hatched brine, fresh harvested rotifers

Wondering peoples opinions before I run out and pick myself some up.

I got a free sample @ MACNA. I'll let you know.
I talked to him about doing a group buy he doesn't sell direct. He would do it through an LFS though. The final pricing would be up to the LFS but he said he usually sends the shop from freebies to make it worth their while.

The reason I ask is because Stan (smcooler) and I were interested in getting some and he emailed the guy. He emailed back with the same info about only selling to LFS. In the email he stated to pass it along to a LFS and see if anything generates.

I don't know of anyone in Jersey selling this stuff.

So...I passed the email along to Will, Aquatic Obsession, to see if he was interested.

The guy said that he needs to get like 15 pre-sold to make it worth the while to ship up and all. So before buying some, I wanted to get Jersey feedback on the product.

I have heard quite a few people say they are pleased with this food. I know some of the WWM crew from Chicago are particularly big fans of this food. I also hear a lot of positive things about Pablo Tepoots' Spectrum foods

hi everyone. i got a sample at macna, and my fish seem to like it. if will from aquatic- obsessions gets it me and a friend of mine would definitely would get it.

Deepwater can get it .. He ran a GB before in MR and I myself bought 2 of them and just asked him awhile ago if he can still get them and he said yes...

My fish go nutz with it ....

I've used it a few times in the past. I think it's OK but could be better. This isn't a knock on the product in any way mind you. The fish definitely love it but I think the particle size is to big for some corals. If it were chopped finer I think it would be better for the corals.

Have you ever thought of mixing up your own foods? It doesn't have to be hard. It's a little messy and bit stinky but that's the worst of it. If you mix up a big batch it can last you a long time!

I do mine a little differently then I think most people do. While blending I'll stop the blender at different points and pull out some of the food and put them in little 4 to 8 oz bottles. I then blend some more and add this to the bottles. Then blend till it's almost liquid and put this in different bottles. I then put of the solid food and one of the liquid food in the fridge and the others in the freezer until needed.

Shake each bottle up before using it and you have some small solid pieces for the fish and some corals along with some nice liquid food that other corals use. It's a nice "blend" of food this way. Feeds the fish, corals and fauna.

Just an idea.

I also blended my own mix of seafood. The fish likes it, but the problem is that I have possibly blended it too much (I wanted it for SPS corals) and I got bit of positiove boyancy and the only way I could target feed the corals with it was after diluting it quite a bit with a tank water.

Nothing wrong with that mladencovic. Your just adding some more proteins, crude fats, amino acids & vitamins to the water. As long as your filtration can keep up it's a good thing overall.

Next time you blend, try pulling some pieces out earlier in the blending stages so you get different sizes for different purposes like target feeding. I'm to lazy to target feed and just dump it in the tank. :)
