rusty screws

i am trying to increase the flow to my fuge and i have this pond pump lying around

it has 4 metal screws, assuming they will rust in the saltwater pretty fast, would that amount of rust be harmful to my tank?
its a reef tank btw

Have you read the reviews for that pump? A few people state that it only lasts about a year before it dies. If they are stainless steel screws and submersed, they shouldn't rust. Mag-Drive pumps have metal screws and I've never had them rust.

i got it free from someone breaking down their pond. But if it was not stainless steel and did rust, would the rust be an issue?

I don't think rust will be an issue. I lost few razor blades in my 90 and never had any problems.
