Sand bed in a frag tank

I have a 48" x 24" x 10" high frag tank with a bare bottom. Do any of you guys have a sand bed in you frag tank? Any opinions on whether or not it would be beneficial to have one?

I like mine bare bottom. Easier to keep detritus in check that way, IMO. I'm able to turn up the flow in the tank without the sand to worry about.

I don't think it really makes a difference unless you want to use the tank to double as a DSB which wouldn't be the case for you with only 10" total height. Short of using the space for a DSB then it really just depends on what you like visually and how much flow you want to run in the tank.

A tank that doesn't have sand as Phyl pointed out is going to be easier to maintain and keep clean for sure.
