Sand Sifting Starfish

I was worried about the star having enough food as my tank isn't fully mature. Now that I'm going fallow, I'm really concerned. Let me know if anyone wants him. I'm in Northern NJ. Would hate to see him starve.

I would take this guy if he’s still available. My tank is fallow right now but I have a lot of detritus in my sand that’s raising nitrates and phosphates. I was even considering taking the sand out. Where in northern NJ are you by the way?

So, I just realized that giving this away right now probably isn't a good idea as I have ich in the tank and ich eggs can be on the sand, which the starfish is covered with. I'll try spot feeding him again to try to keep him healthy.

Ours does just fine on a piece of shrimp once a week. Every several days I feed the star, the crabs and the duncan. It's really amusing watching them eat. The duncan will envelope a piece if shrimp roughly the size of a tic tac. It eats very eagerly.
