Scolymia not doing well

I recently bought a bleeding apple scolymia which had some recession. The recession appeared to be healing nicely and he was eating mysis shrimp / cyclopeeze whenever it was fed to him. I have tried to feed him the past two nights and he would not eat. His health does not look the greatest and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. He is not dieing at this point but I just spent $100 on this piece and do not want to lose him. He is placed about 3 inches off of the sand bed and is under T5 lighting which the bulbs are 5 months old. Any help would be appreciated.

A picture would be helpful.

If you have the room I would move it down onto the sandbed in an area of low to moderate flow.

Don't try to feed everyday, but do try to give it something meatier like small whole krill of a chunk of silverside.

Thanks for the advice everyone. He is now in the sand bed in a semi shaded area. Lets see what happens.

How is the flow? My fiancee was having trouble with some LPS receding but we moved the powerheads and everything is fine now.

The flow in my tank is good. I have a 58 gallon tank with a mag 7 as a return pump and two hydor koralia power heads

Jon,

I had the same problem you did with a brain. I had to put it in a small container with sand and partial covered over to restrict it down to no flow.

Well,my problem has been solved. I moved him to the sand bed in a medium flow area and he is happier than a pig in .....
