We have one. It isn't like having an OM unit, but it works well. We've had ours for about 6 months and have no complaints with it. It will knock down your pump output a couple hundred GPH though. We're running a 9.5 over a 600gph overflow with no problems.

I used to use one on my 38 gallon running on a Mag 7.
I never had any problems with it. Although it is frozen now.. I took it off the tank when I broke it down and forgot to rinse it off!  D'OH!  :D

I have one on my 75 gallon new setup. It's running on a Mag7 but I'll be upgrading to a Mag 12 or a Gen-X pcx40

I have one on my 75gl on a Mag 12 return. I've had it for over a year now. Works pretty well. The only problem that I had was when some sand entered the pump and got jammed in the internal mechanism that switches the water flow. I had to take it off and rinse it out. Not a big deal because mine is easily accessible. I like it.

I had one, it eventually broke, something was loose inside. I was running a Mag 12 on a closed loop. Unless they have changed the design, the inputs on them are for 3/4" id tubing. The actual opening of the port is only 1/2". You simply cant pump that much water through a 1/2" hole. I tested mine once and was only getting about 600-700 gph with a mag12.

Yes they are priced right, for a smaller tank it would be perfect. For a real current switcher, get an Ocean Motion product, I'm pushing 3,000 gph though mine.

I've got the OM 4-Way, with the drum that just rotates the ports clockwise around my tank. The only limitation is that you cannot run a High Pressure Pump like an Iwaki. Apparently it will lock up the Drum, so you cannot run Eductors.
