Second tank?

Hey guys,

Looks like I might be setting up a second SW tank.

I just talked to a guy who's probably going to be taking my convicts and plecos, in which case I'm going to turn my 29 into a SW tank, too.

Right now it looks like this:

I'm thinking sea horses might be fun, but that'd take a lot more research on my part.

Anyway, it's not official yet, but the prospect is exciting!

very exciting, I remember when all my FW tanks started getting sold off to make room for SW LOL all that is left of my fw days now are two 5g and one 3g (betas/cherry shrimp)

that pleco is HUGE. a 29 would be okay for 2 seahorses. If you got any questions i'm in the process of running a seahorse tank (should be getting seahorses in may), and panmanmatt also has a seahorse tank

Yeah. George is a good size.

It's actually kind of funny...

I live with my 94 yr old grandfather who suffers from dimentia. Well, about 5 or 6 years ago when i initially set up my freshwater tanks here in Jersey, Grandad couldn't remember the name 'pleco' so he started calling our pleco George.

Well, over the years, I've had many a pleco, and they've all been named George. I've had a few that were at least 1.5x as large as this one, but he's still pretty beefy. They get that way when they live in the same tanks as oscars, as they're so friggin messy.

Anyway, I guess that isn't that funny. It adds to it a little that George Foreman is so wacked out that he names all his kids George.

Or maybe it's just me.

;)

If you dont mind.. does your grandfather enjoy watching the fish in the tank? If so seahorses would be great. I've heard a lot about how fishtanks are good to sooth the nerves and also good for senior citizens (no one take affense to this please). And was just wondering if you saw that with him. What type of pleco is that by the way?

I believe he's a common pleco. Whatever he is, I paid about $3 for him when he was about the size of a...well, he was about an inch or an inch and a half from tip to tip.

Oh, how they grow...especially in tanks with messy fish!

You would sure think my grandfather would enjoy watching the fish. But I don't think he even realizes that they're there most of the time. Poor old fella. Dimentia isn't cool at all.

However, he used to spend quite a bit of time looking at the fish. Now I have a SW tank, and it's the most interesting it's even been, and he just can't stay on track long enough to even watch the lil fellas.:(

my grandmother has had had for a little over a year now (slight case of alzheimers, they'r calling it dimentia). And she was over here for easter and went to the basement and loved looking at the fish (they're so relaxing). keep us updated on what you do with the tank
